Part-Time Bookkeeper

Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Schedule: 20 Hours Per Week (Set schedule preferred; flexible M–F)

We are seeking a detail-oriented, "can-do" professional to join a non-profit team as a Part-Time Bookkeeper . This role is vital to our client's mission of serving the five-county area (Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee). You will be stepping into a well-maintained financial system, supported by an outsourced accounting firm, to ensure our daily operations run smoothly.

Financial Management & Bookkeeping

• Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online , including Accounts Payable and Receivable.
• Process donations, grants, and fundraising revenue with meticulous documentation.
• Support the invoice approval and coding process; handle the printing, filing, and mailing of AP checks.
• Track and manage departmental budgets to ensure all expenditures are documented and within limits.
• Manage inventory and expenses using QuickBooks Inventory functions.

Compliance & Reporting

• Work alongside our outsourced accounting firm to assist with monthly reconciliations.
• Support the audit process by providing electronic backup files and documentation for sampling.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal nonprofit regulations.
• Collaborate with vendors to secure proposals for essential services (insurance, telecom, etc.) to ensure optimal value for the organization.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required.
• A solid understanding of nonprofit accounting, including restricted funds and donation processing.
• Experience with (or a willingness to learn) Raiser’s Edge, QGIV, and Tri-Net.
• Ability to maintain a consistent set schedule. While flexible, you must overlap with staff for onboarding and be available for monthly staff meetings and high-volume periods (e.g., year-end close or major fundraisers).
• A team-player attitude with the ability to work independently while remaining aligned with the Executive Director’s goals.
