Lakeside HR Group has partnered with a long-standing commercial construction client to hire a Senior Drywall Estimator to join their team. This company is recognized for delivering exceptional drywall and ceiling system solutions on high-profile projects throughout the Southeast and is proud of its collaborative, detail-oriented work culture.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced estimator who is passionate about shaping commercial spaces and bringing projects to life. In this role, you’ll take the lead on developing comprehensive estimates, guiding junior estimators, and collaborating closely with both field and management teams. You’ll be a critical part of the project planning process and have the opportunity to make a direct impact on project success and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and present accurate, high-level estimates for complex commercial drywall projects
• Review project scopes, analyze risk factors, and align cost estimates with company goals
• Mentor and support junior estimators on best practices, tools, and project approach
• Conduct detailed material and labor takeoffs and prepare bid packages
• Analyze RFPs, architectural drawings, and specifications to determine scope and requirements
• Manage vendor and subcontractor bids to ensure cost competitiveness and completeness
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and leadership to align expectations and schedules
• Maintain and refine cost databases and historical pricing models for continuous improvement

Required Skills

• 5+ years of drywall estimating experience in commercial construction
• Proven ability to independently manage large, complex bids
• Strong knowledge of drywall and ceiling systems, installation methods, and field coordination
• Experience interpreting blueprints, construction documents, and contracts
• Familiarity with estimating software such as PlanSwift, OnScreen Takeoff, or Quick Bid
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and justify estimates to leadership
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
• Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
