Description
The Medical Materiel Specialist I shall include, but are not limited to general warehousing tasks, customer support, requisition, shipping, receiving, building medical kits, inventory management, Quality Assurance (QA) and cargo preparation and deployment, to include medical controlled items stored in a secure location, operation of various materials handling equipment, and utilizing updating DoD MMIS records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all assets in medical WRM assemblages/kits are accounted for and managed.
- Assist in management of deferred procurement programs.
- Ensure all assigned WRM assemblages are inventoried.
- Ensure all assigned WRM assemblages are stored appropriately.
- Assist in developing activation checklists for logistics activities.
- Assist in maintaining shelf-life extension program (SLEP) and serve as SLEP monitor if required.
- Maintain WRM continuity files.
- Conduct monthly reviews, and provides monthly reports to the COR, of SLEP and DMLSS inventory records to ensure accuracy and program compliance.
- Assist in the procurement of medical supplies and equipment.
- Identify and determine proper storage locations (refer, hazmat, flam, etc.)
- Demonstrate use of PPE.
- Package and ship temperature sensitive materiel.
- Verify incoming materiel for correctness in qty, condition etc.
- Research and resolve shipment discrepancies.
- Identify controlled item markings.
- Update MMIS/DMLSS with QA data of new or incorrect data.
- Retrieve Hazardous alerts and recalls, inspect storage locations for effected materiel, document actions update MMIS/DMLSS and perform dispositions actions.
- Provide customer support.
- Assist in building kits & assemblages according to CONOPS and within allowance standards.
- Attain certification/license to drive/operate materiel handling equipment (MHE).
- Attain cargo certification to palletize and pack medical items and segregate special handling according to regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Travel
- 10% to 25% Travel is required.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a logistics or warehousing field (medical logistics preferred).
- Familiarity with MMIS systems and ability to learn and navigate DMLSS.
- Ability to provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa support.
- Ability to pass client background screening for security clearance.
- Experience working with medical supplies and equipment is preferred.
- Prior exposure to DMLSS or other DoD logistics systems.
Salary
- $ 18.34/hour + $5.09/hour H&W (Health and Welfare)

- May involve using ladders, step stools, or order pickers to access shelves.
- Repeated motion of scanning, sorting, or packaging of materials.
