Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Director for a direct hire opportunity in Tampa, FL. This senior leadership role is ideal for a proven commercial construction executive with deep healthcare construction experience, strong Florida market knowledge, and a successful track record managing large client portfolios and complex projects exceeding $50M.

The Construction Project Director will serve as the primary relationship leader for new and existing healthcare clients, overseeing business growth, project acquisition, client retention, and execution strategy. This is a high-impact “doer-seller” role responsible for managing an annual portfolio exceeding $100M in revenue while ensuring outstanding project delivery, client satisfaction, and long-term account growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the main point of contact for major healthcare construction clients, building trusted relationships with owners, influencers, and key project stakeholders.
- Lead client account strategy, sales planning, pursuit development, and retention efforts for accounts generating more than $100M in annual revenue.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities in collaboration with regional leadership and business development teams.
- Oversee pursuit planning, RFP and RFQ strategy, interview preparation, proposal differentiation, and presentation development.
- Guide project acquisition through execution strategy while ensuring quality service delivery, client satisfaction, and repeat business.
- Support team development, operational performance, risk management, and alignment with company standards and guiding principles.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $185,000 to $210,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead healthcare construction client accounts and project portfolios exceeding $100M in annual revenue.
- Manage the full sales and pursuit process, including opportunity identification, proposal strategy, interviews, and client retention.
- Direct business growth and execution strategy for large commercial construction projects valued at $50M or more.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, stakeholders, business development teams, and regional leadership.

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- 18 years of extensive experience in construction management, construction operations, or related leadership roles.
- At least 10 years of experience in operations and sales leadership.
- At least 10 years of healthcare construction experience in Florida.
- AHCA experience is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with healthcare clients on projects valued at $50M or more.
- Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts and large annual revenue portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction delivery, pursuit strategy, risk management, client development, and executive-level stakeholder communication.
- Excellent leadership, presentation, negotiation, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Established relationships within the Florida healthcare construction market.
- Experience leading major hospital, medical campus, ambulatory, or healthcare facility construction programs.
- Strong background in winning repeat business through client satisfaction, operational performance, and trusted advisory relationships.
- Experience mentoring project teams and supporting leadership development across operations and business development functions.
