WAREHOUSE MANAGER - INVENTORY, PURCHASING & RETAIL OPERATIONS

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Warehouse Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our warehouse, including inventory control, receiving, purchasing support, product distribution, transfers, and organization of merchandise across our retail operations.
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all merchandise is received accurately, stored properly, inventoried consistently, and distributed efficiently to our retail locations. This position will also work closely with management, accounting, and vendors to ensure purchasing, receiving, invoices, and inventory records are accurate and up to date.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in warehouse management, inventory control, receiving, purchasing, and retail operations and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where organization, accuracy, accountability, and follow-through are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, organization, picking, packing, and distribution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, efficient, and safe warehouse environment.
- Establish and maintain systems for organizing merchandise so products can be located quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure all merchandise is properly labeled, categorized, and stored.
- Develop and maintain warehouse procedures to improve efficiency and reduce loss, damage, and inventory discrepancies.
- Coordinate the movement and distribution of merchandise between warehouse and retail locations.
- Coordinate transfers between locations and maintain accurate records of all transfers.
- Monitor warehouse space and make recommendations for improving storage capacity and organization.
- Ensure merchandise is properly rotated and stored using FIFO when applicable.
- Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff and assist with scheduling and daily assignments as needed.
- Receive all incoming merchandise and verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect merchandise for accuracy, quantity, quality, and damage.
- Identify and report shortages, overages, damaged merchandise, and incorrect shipments.
- Enter and maintain accurate receiving and inventory information in the company's inventory system.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify products requiring replenishment.
- Track inventory movement between the warehouse and retail locations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory adjustments, transfers, damages, and shortages.
- Work closely with accounting to ensure receiving records and invoices are accurate.
- Assist with inventory forecasting and planning based on sales and historical inventory levels.
- Support retail locations with timely and accurate merchandise distribution.
- Ensure products are properly tagged, priced, packaged, and prepared for the retail floor.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate stock levels at each retail location.
- Monitor sales and inventory reports to identify fast-moving and slow-moving products.
- Work with management to identify merchandise that needs to be reordered, transferred, discounted, or promoted.
- Assist with seasonal product planning and new product introductions.
- Support retail merchandising initiatives and ensure products are presented according to company standards.
- Assist with maintaining attractive and organized retail displays when needed.
- Maintain accurate warehouse, inventory, purchasing, and receiving records.
- Prepare regular inventory and warehouse reports for management.
- Track inventory shrinkage, discrepancies, damages, and adjustments.
- Work closely with accounting to reconcile purchase orders, receiving records, invoices, credits, and vendor statements.
- Maintain organized purchase orders, packing slips, invoices, and vendor documentation.
- Identify operational issues and recommend solutions to improve warehouse and inventory processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and inventory controls.
- Assist with special projects and other operational duties as assigned.
- 3–5 years of experience in warehouse management, inventory control, receiving, purchasing, or retail operations.
- Previous experience managing or supervising warehouse operations strongly preferred.
- Experience receiving, organizing, and distributing merchandise across multiple locations.
- Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
- Experience conducting physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Experience working with purchase orders, packing slips, invoices, and vendor statements.
- Experience with inventory management, POS, or warehouse management systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with management and other departments.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Forklift certification is preferred but not required.
- Experience managing inventory for multiple retail locations.
- Experience in retail, hospitality, restaurant, gift shop, or specialty retail operations.
- Experience with retail purchasing and vendor management.
- Experience supervising warehouse or inventory employees.
- Knowledge of inventory forecasting and sales analysis.
- Experience with retail merchandising and product presentation.
- Experience working with Shopify, POS systems, or other inventory management platforms.
- Experience developing and improving warehouse procedures and inventory controls.
- Ability to regularly lift and move merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds .
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and move throughout the warehouse and retail locations.
- Ability to safely move and organize merchandise and inventory.
- Ability to work in both warehouse and retail environments.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures when receiving or moving merchandise.
