Salary: $24.00/hr

Description

Work as part of a productive team on commercial jobs. Tasks will include, but are not limited to, surface prep, caulking, drywall patching, mixing of paints, setting up and cleaning equipment. Possess skills and techniques to include pressure washing and brushing, rolling, spraying, and fine-finishing using architectural applications.

Expertise Requirements

• Possess a valid Florida Drivers License with a clean driving record.
• Pass an entry drug screen and all subsequent drug tests during employment.
• At least 3 years experience as professional commercial painter.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials handling practices and techniques.
• Possess basic mathematical skills as well as adequate reading and writing skills.
• Able to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Possess basic knowledge of application techniques.
• Possess basic knowledge of appropriate uses for commonly used paints and thinners.
• Must be self-motivated with good initiative and flexibility.
• Must be able to work well as a team player and interact well within a group.

Duty Requirements

• Select the appropriate paint and mix paints according to a pre-determined formula.
• Operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents, or otherwise prepare items for application of paint or other protective coatings.
• Cover and tape off surfaces to protect from paint.
• Setup and safely operate all spray and pressure washing equipment.
• Paint interior / exterior walls and trim using brush, roll, spray, and texturing techniques.
• Set up and safely use rigging, scaffolds, and ladders
• Safely operate and maintain all hand tools and any equipment to include: compressors, forklifts, vehicles, and heavy machinery.
• Represent H.I.S. Painting, Inc. in a positive and professional manner
• Clean and maintain brushes, spray guns, pots, and other equipment using solvents, brushes, and rags.
• Perform minor equipment repairs.

Additional

• Consistent attendance is required.
• Complete all mandatory training.
• Maintain the work area in a safe and clean condition.
• Able to effectively communicate in person and via phone and e-mail.
• Follow all safety practices as outlined in H.I.S. Painting, Inc. policy and procedures.

Physical Demands

• This position is physically demanding.
• This position requires full mobility including the ability to walk, sit, stand, stoop, climb, push, pull, bend, and squat for varying lengths of time.
• Must pass an annual pulmonary exam to wear a respirator.
• Must be able to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more with the assistance of others, safely.
• Must be able to stand on ladders for long periods of time.
• Must be able to climb up various heights on all types of ladders to reach rooftops, etc.
• Must maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which include walking, climbing, standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, heavy lifting, or similar actives for extended periods of time.

Work Environment

• Outdoors, year- round, in most weather conditions.
• Indoors in various structures to include confined spaces.
• Perform job requirements at heights up to 350 feet
