Vice President, Operations - Tampa Metro Area YMCA
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s preferred) in business, nonprofit management, or related field.
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience in multi-site, membership-based health & wellness or recreation operations (budget magnitude exceeding $10MM preferred; YMCA experience strongly preferred).
- A documented track record of membership growth & retention, program innovation, and operational/financial performance.
- Strong experience in fundraising, major gifts/capital campaigns, and developing community partnerships.
- Excellent business operations acumen, financial development skills, and ability to lead in a mission-driven environment.
- A collaborative, inclusive leadership style; strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; ability to navigate complexity and change.
- Superior communication skills—written and oral—and comfort engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders (associates, volunteers, board members, community leaders).
- Willingness to travel regularly across the region, attend evening/weekend events, and respond to operational needs 24/7 as required.
- Must reside locally in the Tampa Metro area with valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Lead and oversee the operational excellence of assigned family centers and product-line operations.
- Drive membership growth and retention while creating a member-focused culture of engagement and innovation.
- Collaborate on program development for youth, adults, and families, aligned with ambitious strategic goals.
- Steward facilities and equipment to ensure safe, welcoming, and functional environments.
- Lead fundraising, community partnerships, and capital campaign efforts to fuel mission impact.
- Supervise and develop a high-performing team of associates and volunteers, embedding the YMCA’s core values in everything we do.
- Manage budgets and financial targets—ensuring that operations meet or exceed margin expectations and fuel our sustainable growth.
- Represent the Y in the community, building relationships with business, civic, and governmental entities to further our cause.
