Environmental Senior Project Manager AUS
The EarthSoft Solutions Department (Solutions) provides client services and manages EQuIS installations, implementations, and configuration services. Solutions staff work remotely via email, telephone, and/or using internet conferencing tools. Occasional travel may be required.
Successful Project Managers (PMs) are practiced at completing projects on time, within budget, and within scope. They are skilled at getting the best out of their project teams. They thrive when planning projects and ensuring their success. They are responsible for coordinating deadlines and monitoring and summarizing progress of assigned projects. Senior Project Managers oversee all aspects of projects of any size or complexity. They prepare bi-weekly reports for management regarding the status of all assigned projects.

Responsibilities:
General Project Manager Skills
- Develop cost estimates for large, complex projects with milestones and/or multiple phases.
- Conduct initial contract review for assigned projects, ensure projects are setup correctly in ERP based on contract specifications.
- Consistently enforce a defined project scope of the work using project tools, communication skills and contractual modifications as needed.
- Design and lead the project initiation phase of assigned projects, works closely with technical and other staff to implement EQuIS services.
- Identify action plans for project execution and ensure task completion to keep project pace and implementation in line with project schedule.
- Perform contract analysis monthly to ensure the project is within budget. Discuss change orders with clients as necessary.
- Perform billing reviews and write-offs on time and correctly (in compliance with established processes) for assigned projects.
- Perform time and expense reviews for assigned projects on time and correctly, in compliance with established processes.
- Complete bi-weekly slides for assigned projects.
- Achieve and maintain an overall services billability of 60% or higher.
- Enter allocation monthly for assigned projects. Mentor other PMs on allocation processes; report/escalate allocation issues to supervisor as applicable.
Relationship Management Skills
- Direct project team in successfully implementing EQuIS sustainably within scope, schedule, and budget. Client provides consistent, positive feedback on project support.
- Lead others. Interact well as a team member and can work with others. Participates actively, shares responsibility and rewards, and contributes to the capability of the Implementation Solutions Group as a whole.
- Recognize/flag conflict and provide resolution or remediation. Comfortable dealing with disagreements between multiple sides and can bring disputes into the open and find win-win solutions.
- Coordinate all Project Team members for successful completion of the project. Guide others on the team in support of the overall vision. Get the job done and bring out the team’s best qualities along the way.
- Foster long-term learning by giving feedback and support to team members and peers. Put key points into persuasive and clear ways so that people are motivated as well as clear about expectations and best practices.
Communication Skills
- Excellent responsiveness to internal and external communication. Respond to both internal and external communication in a timely and complete manner.
- Provide “Knowledge Shares” 6 or more times per year to others within the Group or Region and/or at the Department level.
- Interact with clients in a professional and calm demeanor. Demonstrate excellent professional acumen.
EQuIS/Technical Skills
- In-depth understanding of industry concepts around data management, data streams and EDDs, sample planning, field data collection, data use and reporting and how those topics pertain to EQuIS applications. Ability to lead an implementation kickoff meeting for large or complex projects.
- Achieve and maintain Level II in at least three (3) core areas on the EQuIS skills matrix (EQuIS Professional, EDP, EQuIS Enterprise).
- Achieve and maintain Level III in at least two areas on the EQuIS skills matrix.
- Achieve and maintain Level III in selected area of specialty with regards to EQuIS.
- Regularly presents on an area of subject matter expertise within Implementation Solutions; contributes to discussions in other areas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to actively listen to customers to understand what information is being communicated and the ability to ask appropriate questions to assist customers and/or gain clarification about the communicated information
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- More than 8 years prior Project Management experience, either within the Environmental Industry and/or implementing software.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Environmental or Geological Sciences (or similar), Computer Science, Engineering, or Geography
- 4-5 years prior EQuIS experience or knowledge
