Senior Tax Accountant

AlphaHire is partnering with a forward-thinking public accounting firm to hire a Senior Tax Accountant for a fully remote position. This is not a traditional, production-only compliance role. Instead, this opportunity is designed for a tax professional who can think strategically, review with precision, and proactively identify planning opportunities that create measurable value for clients.

The firm operates in a modern, process-driven environment with offshore support staff and streamlined systems. While the role is fully remote, occasional travel to Orlando, Florida may be required for team collaboration or strategic planning sessions.

What You’ll Do

• Review individual, partnership, S corporation, and corporate tax returns prepared by offshore staff
• Identify technical inaccuracies, compliance risks, and missed tax planning opportunities
• Provide proactive tax strategy insights to optimize client outcomes
• Improve internal review workflows and increase operational efficiency
• Offer structured feedback and mentorship to remote team members
• Communicate directly with clients on complex tax matters and advisory issues
• Review and adjust QuickBooks financial statements to ensure tax readiness
• Collaborate with leadership to refine processes and improve turnaround time

• 5–7+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong hands-on experience with UltraTax (Thomson Reuters)
• Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Proven experience reviewing tax returns (not just preparing them)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a remote, systems-oriented environment
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a continuous improvement approach
• Self-directed professional who performs well without micromanagement
