Role and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Laboratory Director with limited supervision, performs duties of supervision within the department. Performs and interprets diagnostic procedures in all areas of Clinical Laboratory: chemistry, hematology, serology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood banking, and microbiology. Ensures that daily quality control charts, preventive maintenance records, and performance Improvement indicators, are performed and properly documented/posted on a monthly basis. Serves as LIS manager for all procedures related to the Cerner System, local maintenance and troubleshooting of software/ hardware, as appropriate, including billing issues, with the assistance of revenue coordinator in Finance. . Assists Laboratory Director with scheduling, orientation, troubleshooting procedures. Responsibility encompasses provision of care of patients 0 to geriatric age. Will assist in individual laboratory departments, as deemed necessary by the Laboratory Director.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Laboratory Manager is accountable to the Laboratory Director.
