A full-time Physical Therapist opportunity is available within an acute inpatient rehabilitation program at a 380-bed acute care hospital in Fort Pierce, Florida. This facility is a designated Level II Trauma Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center, home to Level III Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, and features a CARF-accredited Physical Rehabilitation Center. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping patients regain function and independence.

The Physical Therapist is responsible for managing the complete rehabilitation process for an assigned patient caseload. This includes performing comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing skilled physical therapy interventions that support each patient's recovery goals. Working closely with physicians and the healthcare team, the therapist helps patients improve mobility, strength, and functional abilities while promoting active participation throughout the rehabilitation process. Patient and family education is a key part of the role, ensuring continued progress beyond therapy sessions. The position also supports daily clinical operations by coordinating caseload priorities, staffing needs, and patient care transitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and functional assessments.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and physician recommendations.

  • Deliver skilled physical therapy services throughout the patient's rehabilitation journey.

  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.

  • Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on home exercise programs, mobility techniques, therapeutic equipment, and prosthetic devices.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

  • Coordinate patient caseloads, assignments, and daily workflow.

  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to maximize patient outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with professional practice standards and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Current Physical Therapist license required.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy required.

  • Minimum of one year of Physical Therapist experience required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative inpatient rehabilitation environment.

Schedule:

  • Full-time
