HVAC Technician
Our client, a commercial HVAC contractor serving South Florida, is hiring two HVAC Technicians for their service department. The company handles preventive maintenance contracts and emergency repairs for office buildings, hotels, and retail centers throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
You'll perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and cooling towers. The company provides a fully stocked service truck, phone, and uniforms. Most technicians average 5-10 hours of overtime per week during peak season. The company values work-life balance and rarely requires weekend work unless it's a true emergency call.Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, splits, and chillers
- Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications
- Replace compressors, motors, contactors, and control boards
- Check refrigerant levels and perform leak detection
- Clean coils, replace filters, and lubricate bearings
- Document service calls and parts usage in mobile app
- Communicate with customers about repairs and recommendations
- Respond to emergency service calls during on-call rotation
Requirements
- EPA 608 Universal certification required
- Minimum 2 years of commercial HVAC experience
- Experience with rooftop units and split systems
- Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and controls
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work in hot conditions on rooftops
- Own hand tools required, specialty tools provided
- Strong customer service skills
