Shelf Stocker Part time Position Location Jacksonville, FL (Jacksonville Naval Air Station area) :

: Transport palletized merchandise from warehouse to sales floor or assigned aisle and place it on the floor in its proper location. Block stock on shelf, rotate stock with oldest date in front, remove any outdated merchandise. Clean shelves.

Responsibilities and duties of this position include but not limited to:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Move stock from holding area to sales floor and spot for stocking.
• Clean shelves during stocking operation.
• Stock merchandise on allocated shelf space using block-stocking method.
• Remove any misplaced or expired shelf-life merchandise from the shelf.
• Rotate dated merchandise so that the oldest date is in front of newer dated products.
• Adhere to designated number of items facing.
• Report any broken Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) to your supervisor.
• Face and straighten merchandise.
• Palletize overwrite cases and relocate as directed.
• Breakdown cardboard, move to bailer, and bail. Place other waste material in designated cans.
• Return misplaced items to designated shelf or storage space.
• Participate in hazardous food recalls.
• Participate in annual inventory.
• Participate in emergency stocking activities.
• Use carts and manual pallet jacks to move items and use stool for high shelves.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None

QUALIFICATIONS Ability to prepare, arrange, or stack items together for safety and neatness, rotate old stock. Ability to recognize and report items of poor or unacceptable quality. Ability to operate a manual pallet jack in a safe manner. Ability to read and match UPC codes. Ability to locate items in designated storage areas, move to stocking location, to replenish grocery shelves, and to return overwrites to designated storage areas. Ability to understand the general layout of the store and location of displays, and help customers locate items on display or to obtain items for customers from backup storage areas as requested. Ability to function in a military setting. Must pass a background check.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE No specified educational requirements except and ability to read numbers and distinguish between sizes, shapes and to match items. Prior stocking experience is preferred.

Ability to push and pull manual pallet jacks with a full pallet of groceries full range of motion. Ability to stand, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, reach above shoulders. Ability to maintain continuous walking, standing, bending, or stooping for extended periods of time. Sight required to visually check for stocking accuracy and visual appeal. Ability to work in an environment with dust.
