Rentals Specialist
Federal Contracts Company was founded in 2003 by Clark and Tricia Ricke to be the solution for manufacturers of heavy equipment and federal government agencies that seek to buy or rent that equipment. Job Title: Rentals Specialist
Status: Full-time, Exempt, On-site
Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm
Compensation: Starting at $70,000/year (commensurate with experience) plus bonus potential
Position Summary:
The Rentals Specialist is responsible for managing and communicating equipment availability, driving sales through effective marketing strategies, and ensuring the highest level of customer service. This role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, industry partners, and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
o Facilitates the rental of equipment to new prospects and existing customers.
o Develops and increases rentals/sales through proactive marketing strategies.
o Generates and builds strong and lasting business relationships with prospective and existing customers.
o Communicates with all levels of a customer’s organization including jobsite personnel, operators,
organizational leadership, and other decision makers.
o Forecasts sales and communicates with the operations team to ensure availability of equipment.
o Gathers, identifies, and understands market trends and data to remain competitive in the market.
o Maintains current knowledge of Federal, State, and Local economic trends and developments that impact
o the equipment sales and rental landscape.
o Resolves basic customer product and technical issues within the scope of the position.
o Attends trade shows and maintains an ongoing knowledge of equipment offerings to drive customer
engagement and sales/rentals.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (preferred).
o 5+ years’ experience in equipment sales/rentals/leasing.
o Prior experience with government contracts preferred.
o Strong organizational and time management skills.
o Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data is entered accurately.
o Ability to multi-task when necessary.
o Great oral and written communication skills.
o Excellent customer service skills.
o Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
o Knowledge of state and federal laws that apply to the duties of this position.
o Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions within the scope of the position.
o Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
o Ability to maintain strict customer and corporate confidentiality.
Travel Requirements:
o Occasional travel to trade shows and/or vendor and customer locations may be required.
