Job Summary :

Provides mental health counseling services to individuals, couples, and families and facilitates groups within the community to children and adult. Represent JFCS in the community as designated.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education: Masters degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field from an accredited college or university

Experience: 2 years experience counseling children and families preferred. Knowledge and skills in: Needs of, identification of abused and neglected children and adults; child development, and individual and family functioning; working with hard to reach or resistant individuals and families; collaborating with other disciplines and services; skills in group dynamics and leading group discussions.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Florida (LMHC, LCSW or LMFT)

Primary Job Functions:

• Provide in person and telehealth counseling services to individuals, children, couples, families and groups. Maintain client files (to include biopsychosocial, assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, progress notes and discharge summaries) in accordance with program standards, including Medicaid. Billing completed within 24-48 hours, charts up to date, productivity goals met minimum 20 hours per week.

• Prepare reports and documentation to remain compliant with contracts (funding streams).
• Provide professional case consultation to professionals involved in client’s case. Adhere to monthly billable productivity requirements based on position held:
• productivity goal of a minimum of 20 hours per week.
• The staff member will maintain Client satisfaction Survey results -indicating a 80 percent positive score.
• Works cooperatively as part of a team
• Maintain an electronic calendar of scheduled appointments
• Provide training to parents, teachers and staff (workshops, speaking engagements and tv) as needed.
• Adhere to credentialing ethical standards and guidelines
• Refer clients to appropriate community resources and organizations.

Periodic Job Functions

• Attend professional training.
• Community Outreach: radio and TV interviews / community presentation
• Provide testimony or documentation for court hearings regarding clinical observations and Therapeutic visitations (as requested)
