POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Pediatrics at USF Morsani College of Medicine seeks a per-diem Neonatologist to serve the clinical and educational missions of the Division of Neonatology. The division is based at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in Tampa, FL, a 1,018-bed teaching hospital affiliated with USF Health. TGH features a level 3 NICU and the Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU, a Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center. USF/TGH Neonatology participates in the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution or equivalent, with achievement in teaching, research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
• Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent. Will need to obtain and maintain this license, credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the assigned hospitals. Will participate in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Board Certified/Eligible in Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of professional experience, with a record of leading or developing clinical or research programs. ECMO experience is preferred but not required.

DUTIES:

Provides clinical services in Tampa General Hospital NICU alongside neonatal nurse practitioners, fellows, residents, and students. Attends high-risk deliveries. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and administrative activities, including advising and committee participation.
