Job Summary

Energized Composite Technologies is seeking a motivated and hands-on Synthetic/Composite Chemist to join our R&D team advancing next-generation structural batteries. This role focuses on the battery material synthesis, optimization, formulation, and testing of battery materials, as well as the fabrication and characterization of carbon fiber-reinforced composites. Key Responsibilities

• Independently synthesize and process battery electrode and electrolyte materials.
• Optimize material properties for battery applications.
• Formulate materials for electrode preparation.
• Assist in the fabrication of fiber-reinforced composite structures.
• Perform electrochemical testing (formation, rate capability, impedance, cycling) and mechanical testing (tensile, flexural, impact)
• Support scale up activities from laboratory scale processing to pilot level production.
• Maintain lab safety standards and proper handling of chemicals and battery components.
• Work collaboratively with the project team to meet project objectives and timelines.
• Maintain accurate experimental records, prepare technical reports, and contribute to internal and external project reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S./PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of research experience.
• Hands-on experience with fiber-reinforced composite fabrication and testing.
• Familiarity with battery chemistry.
• Understanding of mechanical behavior, thermal stability, and failure analysis in composites.
• Previous involvement in lab-to-pilot process development is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of working in a cross-functional team.
