General Manager / Store Manager
$70k-$90k ($100k+ OTE) Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Store Manager to lead daily operations at our retail location, specializing in construction materials and supplies. The Store Manager will oversee all aspects of store performance, including sales, customer service, inventory control, staffing, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in retail management, particularly within the building or construction supply sector, and be capable of leading a team to deliver outstanding service to professional contractors, builders, and homeowners. Job Responsibilities:
Oversee all day-to-day store operations, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient workflow.
Recruit, hire, and assist in training all staff members
Drive sales growth and profitability by setting and achieving sales goals and KPIs.
Analyze profit and loss statements, prepare and monitor the annual budget, monitor accounting procedures and cash flow, complete an annual break-even analysis, and handle other accounting-related responsibilities.
Ensure timely and accurate receiving, stocking, and replenishment of merchandise.
Manage scheduling, staffing, performance reviews, and corrective actions.
Facilitate customer service excellence in the store by greeting and assisting customers while supporting sales professionals and sales managers.
Develop strong relationships with customers, vendors, and top accounts.
Handle customer complaints and issues professionally and promptly.
Work with the sales manager to determine the sales floor displays and the design of the sales floor.
Prepare and review sales reports, financial performance data, and operational metrics.
- High school diploma, or equivalent, is required.
- At least five years of progressive, related sales or operations management experience is required.
- Experience in professional selling is required.
- Construction materials/products and installation experience are preferred
- Demonstrate proficiency in planning, organization, and communication skills.
- Read, interpret, and manage a profit and loss statement.
- Understand and effectively communicate numerical data.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
