Automotive Technician / Shop Foreman – Transmission & General Repair ($32+/hr)

Job Description:
AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care in Fort Pierce, Florida is hiring an experienced Automotive Technician / Shop Foreman to join our high-volume, professional repair facility. This is a working foreman role for a senior automotive technician with strong transmission, drivability, and diagnostic experience who can lead and support a team of technicians on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with automatic and manual transmissions, engine repair, electrical diagnostics, and general automotive repair, and is comfortable mentoring and guiding other technicians while maintaining productivity and repair quality.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced automotive diagnostics and repairs including transmissions, engines, drivability, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems
- Act as Shop Foreman / Lead Technician, providing daily technical direction to a team of four technicians
- Diagnose complex issues using scan tools, OEM service information, and test equipment
- Assist with workflow management, job prioritization, and quality control
- Ensure all repairs meet AAMCO standards, safety guidelines, and flat-rate efficiency goals
- Communicate clearly with service advisors and management regarding repair needs and timelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional automotive shop environment

Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as an Automotive Technician or Transmission Technician
- Strong background in transmission repair, engine diagnostics, and general automotive service
- Previous experience as a Lead Technician, Shop Foreman, or Senior Technician preferred
- Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools and vehicle electrical systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume automotive repair shop
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- ASE Certifications preferred (A-Series, L1, or Transmission certifications a plus, not required)

Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly pay starting at $32 per hour, with higher pay based on experience, certifications, and leadership ability

- Full-time
