What you will do
Perform inspection, testing and maintenance/repair of Wet, Dry, Pre-Action and Deluge Sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA and State of Department of Health. Candidate should have the ability to accurately discern, and document deficiencies found during an inspection.
How you will do it
- Perform routine inspections, testing, service of life safety product lines as well as similar competitive manufacturers' product lines.
 - Attention to detail with the ability to communicate with employees, employers, customers, and authorities having jurisdiction both written and verbally is desired.
 - Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment.
 - Learn to complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices, such as laptop computers and/or hard copy.
 - Input, retrieve and archive inspection documentation program via the laptop computer.
 - Make minor repairs and programming changes while under the direct authorized supervision.
 - Perform other duties as assigned.
 
What we look for
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
 - Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
 - 4 or more years of documented experience in sprinkler system inspections.
 - NICET certification - or - able to pass NICET within 3 months of starting at JCI (training provided by JCI)
 - Able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes.
 - Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
 - Experience/knowledge troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.
 - Able and willing to perform physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 70 lbs.
 - Able and willing to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
 - Able and willing to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements.
 - Willing and able to travel out of town.
 - Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
 - Able and willing to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
 - Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
 
Preferred
- 5 or more years of documented experience in sprinkler system inspections.
 - Knowledge of fire pumps, backflows and standpipes is a plus.
 - Experience with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam systems
 - Backflow certification
 
HIRING HOURLY RANGE : $20.67 - $28.85 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
