Job Title: Port Security Guard (TWIC Required).

Position Overview:

SMI Security is currently hiring 6 professional and reliable Security Guards for assignments at Port Everglades . This role is critical in maintaining the safety, security, and operational flow of one of South Florida’s busiest port facilities.

We are seeking candidates who are alert, customer-service oriented, and capable of working in a dynamic outdoor environment. This position requires strict adherence to port security regulations and procedures.

Pay & Schedule:

Overnight Shift:

• 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (8-hour shifts within this window).
• $16.50 per hour.
  
  

Day Shift (Bilingual Required - English/Spanish):

• Shift windows between 4:00 AM - 5:00 PM and 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM.
• (8-hour shifts scheduled within these timeframes).
• $19.00 per hour.
  
  

Schedule Details:

• Full-time hours.
• Must be flexible and available any day of the week.
• Rotating schedules may apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and secure assigned areas within Port Everglades.
• Control access points by verifying credentials, TWIC cards, and identification.
• Enforce port security rules, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct routine patrols to detect and deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious behavior, incidents, or safety hazards.
• Provide excellent customer service to port personnel, drivers, and visitors.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of daily activities.
• Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following established procedures.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, port authorities, and team members.

Requirements:

• Must possess a valid and active Florida Class D Security License .
• Must hold a valid and active TWIC Card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) .
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required for daytime positions.
• Must have strong customer service and communication skills .
• Ability to remain alert, professional, and responsive at all times.
• Must be flexible with scheduling , including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, rain, wind, etc.).
• Reliable transportation to and from the work site.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-traffic environment.
• Ability to maintain awareness and vigilance throughout the shift.
