Payroll Assistant

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

A Payroll Assistant supports payroll operations in North America (U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico), to include salary and hourly workforce. You will collect and process employee data (timesheets, hours, deductions, benefits), ensuring accurate and timely payment, handling new hire paperwork, resolving discrepancies, maintaining confidentiality, and preparing reports. You will have a strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of payroll laws and software. The position located in Jacksonville, Florida.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Entry & Processing : Accurately enter employee hours, tax withholding, deductions, and benefit changes.

• Timesheet Management : Collect, validate, and process timesheets and overtime data.

• Payment Preparation : Assist in preparing and issuing paychecks and payroll statements.

• New Hires : Handle new employee setup and paperwork in the payroll system.

• Issue Resolution : Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee queries.

• Reporting : Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, and deductions for reports.

• Compliance : Ensure compliance with tax laws and internal policies.

• Confidentiality : Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework is a plus.

• Experience : Previous experience in payroll or a related field is a plus.

• Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), HRIS such as Workday, UKG, Kronos, etc.

• Soft Skills : Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills, communication, and customer service.

• Knowledge : Understanding of payroll regulations and laws.
