Fire System Technician (Jacksonville)

Do you know fire alarm systems inside and out? We're hiring.

At Performance Electrical Contracting in Jacksonville, FL, we need someone who can install, fix, and inspect fire alarm systems. You'll help keep people and buildings safe. If you have hands-on experience with fire alarm systems, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do

• Install, program, test, and fix fire alarm systems, panels, and devices
• Check systems on a regular schedule to make sure everything works
• Find and fix problems when a system isn't working right
• Write down what you find, what you fixed, and when you did it
• Read building plans, wiring diagrams, and spec sheets
• Work with project managers, inspectors, and customers as needed
• Follow all fire and electrical codes — local, state, and national
• Keep your tools, test equipment, and work vehicle in good shape
• Answer basic questions and show customers how their system works
• Follow all safety rules and OSHA requirements on every job

What You Need

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 70, and local fire codes
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical drawings
• Good at finding and fixing problems
• Valid driver's license with a clean record
• Ability to pass a background check

Nice to Have

• NICET Fire Alarm certification (any level)
• State or local fire alarm license
• Experience with brands like Honeywell, Siemens, Notifier, Simplex, or Edwards
• Low-voltage electrical experience
• Good people skills and comfort talking with customers
