Business Development Manager - Business Supply
$100-130k base salary + commission + full comprehensive benefits Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for overseeing and developing new markets in the Orlando, Tampa, and Vero Beach/Space Coast areas. This senior-level position is primarily focused on business development, not operations. The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of shell contractors, building materials, and the needs of single-family home builders. This role involves being the face of the company, instilling confidence in the customer base, and understanding their needs while confidently speaking about the company’s product line. Job Responsibilities:
- Market Expansion: Drive business development efforts to grow the company's presence in the Orlando, Tampa, and Vero Beach/Space Coast areas.
 - Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with shell contractors and understand their product needs.
 - Product Expertise: Be well-versed in the company’s product offerings and articulate their benefits to clients.
 - Field Interaction: Spend time in the field with clients, ensuring strong face-to-face relationships and promoting confidence in the company’s capabilities.
 - Team Leadership: Oversee the development of new markets while leading warehouse teams (foreman, warehouse staff, and drivers) to support the company’s business objectives.
 - Sales Capabilities: While business development will be the primary focus, a sales-oriented mindset will be beneficial in driving new business and expanding the customer base.
 - Customer Focus: Understand and address client needs and expectations effectively, ensuring the company’s products and services align with their requirements.
 
- Industry Experience: Significant experience in the building supply industry, specifically with shell contractors, is required. Candidates with experience working for other suppliers are highly desired.
 - Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of the products needed by shell contractors in the construction of single-family homes.
 - Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and oversee market expansion efforts while working closely with warehouse and operational teams.
 - Sales Experience: A solid background in business development, with a focus on developing long-term client relationships rather than direct sales.
 - Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively represent the company to clients and build trust.
 - Field Experience: Willingness to be hands-on in the field, interacting directly with clients and ensuring the company meets their needs.
