Preconstruction Manager / Chief Estimator
Preconstruction Manager / Chief Estimator job in Tampa, FL
This is a permanent, full time position with a great salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Build accurate estimates for medium to large mechanical (hvac-wet and dry as well as plumbing systems)
- Strengthen relationship with owners, general contractors, subs, and vendors
- Sign-off/approve final estimates prior to submittals
- Train existing estimators
- Hire new estimators
- Meet with Senior Management Team
Requirements:
- Large and medium commercial and industrial project experience (10 million+)
- 10+ years of Estimating experience
- Advanced knowledge of OST Estimating software and able to read, redline and interpret 3D Models and CAD drawings
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management
- Comfortable meeting with owners and general contractors and presenting for upcoming projects
- Experience working on Design-Build, Negotiated, and Plan-Spec projects
Preferred:
- Prior field knowledge
- Advanced Florida Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal and other mechanical systems and code knowledge
- Stable work-history
