Housekeeper

The PT Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout Forest Lake Academy. This position supports the school's mission by ensuring classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and campus facilities are properly cleaned and maintained to promote the health, safety, and well-being of students, staff, and visitors. The Housekeeper demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to providing excellent custodial services in a Christ-centered educational environment.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous custodial or housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate standard cleaning equipment and custodial tools.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitation procedures, and safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, standing, walking, and reaching for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and visitors.
• Commitment to supporting the mission, values, and standards of Forest Lake Academy and the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Job Responsibilities:

• Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gymnasium, and other campus facilities daily.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors, furniture, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms while ensuring supplies are fully stocked.
• Replenish paper products, soap, sanitizer, and other custodial supplies.
• Clean windows, doors, mirrors, and other glass surfaces as assigned.
• Set up and break down rooms for school events, meetings, and special programs.
• Assist with campus preparation before and after special events.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or repair needs promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment safely and report equipment malfunctions.
• Follow established health, sanitation, and safety procedures, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Help maintain inventory of custodial supplies and notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed.
• Assist with emergency cleanup situations as needed.
• Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration to maintain a clean and welcoming campus.
• Perform seasonal cleaning projects, including deep cleaning during school breaks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or administration.
