Compensation
- Salary: $97,100 - $148,700/yr
- Annual Bonus: $7,500.00

Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Lab Operations is responsible for leading day-to-day technical and operational functions within the laboratory, ensuring smooth execution of processes, regulatory compliance, and teammate development. This role provides hands-on leadership for laboratory teams and serves as a bridge between frontline operations and senior leadership. The position reports to the Director, Laboratory Operations.
Primary Functions
- Oversee assigned laboratory lanes to ensure they meet performance, quality, and financial targets.
- Monitor data and key performance metrics to make informed decisions about staffing, resources, and workflow.
- Support standardization of processes, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Partner with leadership on long-term planning for service line growth and operational improvements.
- Lead and engage laboratory supervisors and frontline teams to foster a culture of accountability, belonging, and high performance.
- Mentor emerging leaders, focusing on professional growth and succession planning.
- Drive cross-shift and cross-department communication to support operational excellence.
- Ensure laboratory testing is performed accurately, documented properly, and compliant with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Oversee quality control and quality assurance programs to maintain the highest standards of laboratory services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring service excellence.
- Resolve operational issues and client concerns in a timely, professional manner.
- Support strategic initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement activities as needed.
Must-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related sciences
- Minimum of 5+ years of laboratory leadership experience in a high-volume, high-complexity testing environment with a proven track record of leading teams, driving process improvements, and managing operational performance
- Strong knowledge of laboratory regulatory standards (CAP, CLIA, federal and state)
- Medical Technologist registry (ASCP, NCA, AAB, or equivalent)
- Florida Supervisor license
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business administration or relevant sciences
