This is neither an instructional coaching position nor a traditional teaching role. You won't review lesson plans or observe lectures because none exist. Instead, you'll establish a culture of excellence by coaching Guides, facilitating compelling life skills workshops, and inspiring students to reach ambitious objectives. Your effectiveness will be evaluated by the quality of student experiences, team performance, and your capacity to uphold rigorous standards while motivating others to achieve them.

What You Will Be Doing

• Coaching Guides to reliably deliver outstanding student experiences while upholding Alpha's rigorous standards.
• Facilitating compelling life skills workshops that build communication, leadership, concentration, and other practical competencies for K-12 students.
• Inspiring students to pursue ambitious learning objectives and maximize advancement in their self-directed academic programs.
• Leveraging data, observation, and coaching dialogue to enhance Guide effectiveness and student results.
• Supporting the launch and establishment of new Alpha campuses by cultivating a culture rooted in excellence, accountability, and continuous growth.

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Teaching conventional academic classes or presenting subject-specific lectures.
• Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum materials.
• Reducing standards to create artificial feelings of success rather than supporting students toward genuine mastery.
• Leading a team remotely from an office without direct, regular coaching of students and Guides.
• Maintaining outdated methods simply because "that's the way it's always been done."

Coaching Manager Key Responsibilities

Guarantee that every student consistently receives Alpha's three promises by developing high-performing Guides, facilitating engaging life skills experiences, and upholding uncompromising standards for student achievement.

Basic Requirements

• Willingness to work on-site at an Alpha campus (relocation assistance available): Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Orange County, CA; Santa Barbara, CA
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in education, coaching, learning and development, or a related leadership capacity.
• Experience leading and developing teams of five or more individuals.
• Proven success utilizing data to drive performance enhancements.
• Experience working with children ages 5-14 in an educational, coaching, or developmental context.
• Experience establishing or launching a new team, program, business, school, or initiative.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Experience coaching youth through athletics, debate, camps, or extracurricular activities.
• Outstanding public speaking and storytelling abilities.
• A history of attaining high levels of academic, professional, or athletic achievement.
• Experience inspiring teams through ambitious objectives while sustaining high accountability.
• A commitment to questioning conventional education and contributing to a new model for K-12 learning.

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
