Dog Bar Front Desk/Wooferee

Do you love service industry and have experience working with dogs? Do you love being outdoors and socializing with people? Dog Bar is looking for a well qualified candidate to join our team. This position is considered part time with 3-4 scheduled days a week and needs to be filled by June 30th 2025. We keep a team of 10 Wooferees/Desk Attendants so that flexible schedules can accommodate for school, vacations and other employment. Shifts are usually 5 hours long and we schedule for weekday evenings, Saturday or Sunday all day and the opportunity to expand to more shifts in the future.

Priority will be given to candidates with previous pet experience such as Vet Tech, Vet Assistant, Kennel Tech, Dog Daycare or Animal Medical Experience. Weekend and evening availability is a must!

This position blends two key responsibilities:

Front Desk Host/Greeter You're the first face people see. You'll be checking in guests, signing up new members, explaining rules, and selling memberships or day passes. You'll need to be friendly, detail-oriented, and confident using a point-of-sale system and Gingr checkin software.

Wooferee (Dog Park Monitor) Out in the yard, you're the referee of the ruff crowd. You'll monitor dog behavior, clean up messes, enforce safety rules (nicely!), and chat with guests about their pups. It's not just standing around. This role takes focus, awareness, and a love of dog dynamics.

We'll train you on our safety protocols and how to spot play vs. problem behavior. No experience? If you love dogs and people, we've got you.

Duties include

- Checking in Dogs

- Verifying shot records

- Handling payment

- Facilitating fun and safe play in the off-leash dog play yard.

- Engage and interact with dogs and their owners.

- Dealing with ownership complaints or problems with a positive attitude.

- Regularly demonstrating a sincere concern for the care, attitudes, and behaviors of dogs and the relationships they have with their owners.

- Observe dog body language and intervening when a dog exhibits stress signals or bullies another dog.

- Standing, running, walking for long hours.

- Constant monitoring of gates, fencing and overall security of play area.

- Keeping the yard tidy, picking up discarded trash and filling dog bowls regularly.

- Assist in picking up dog waste when the owners fail to.

- Communicate clearly with owners about appropriate dog behavior and manage their concerns.

- Take out trash at the end of the night.

- Other tasks as assigned.

You're a Great Fit If You:

- Have previous kennel or dog daycare experience (preferred)

- Know and love dog behavior — and can read the room (or yard!)

- Feel passionate about dog care and never fear getting a little dirty

- Are comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments

- Work independently and manage your area with confidence

- Communicate clearly and kindly with teammates and guests

- Have a high school diploma or equivalent

- Have reliable transportation and show up on time

- Can work various shifts, including weekends and some holidays

- Can stand and walk for your full shift (yes, it's active!)

- Can lift or carry up to 50 pounds without issue

Schedule:

• Evening shifts on weekdays (3:30 PM-10:30 PM)
• Midday to evening shifts on weekends (11:30 AM-4:30 PM, 4:00 PM-11:00PM)
• Closed Mondays. Must be available weekends.
