Greets and assists all clients seeking services at the Florida Department of Health in Jefferson County. Promotes good customer service assuring that telephones are answered promptly and courteously, assures that customers are treated with respect. Adheres to standard operating procedures and assures they are followed properly. Schedules appointments for all clinics. Receives, reviews and updates eligibility information and necessary paperwork/records for patients to be seen by provider. Cashiers for clinic and Environmental Public Health (EPH). Assures vouchers and remittance advice are scanned and reported to the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County daily for the purpose of recording in the Health Management System (HMS) and posting to client accounts. Ensures cash receipts and other instruments of value are appropriately safeguarded and all accountability and recording procedures are adhered to at all times. Reviews and inputs clinic services from encounter forms into HMS and bills accordingly.

Serves as Deputy Registrar, working under the direct supervision of the Chief Deputy Registrar in this program and assures that all Florida Statutes and Administrative Codes pertaining to Vital Statistics are followed. Ensures that the “doc sequence" is entered correctly for the E-vitals system.

Maintains and processes record requests under direction of Privacy Officer. Assists Records Management Liaison Officer (RMLO) with records management and purging and destruction of records.

Assists the EPH program by fielding phone calls and assisting with EPH requests. Assists in EPH field work to include limited use water program. Assists EPH customers with water samples.

Works as a Senior Clerk at the Florida Department of Health in Madison County as needed.

Performs related work as required. Assist other programs as needed.

Participates in Quality Improvement activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of computer programs and software to enhance the productivity of CHD programs
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems

Ability to work independently and as a team
Ability to handle multiple tasks at once; must be organized and detail oriented
Ability to communicate effectively and deal with the public professionally while providing excellent customer service

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications
Valid Driver’s License

Preferred qualifications –

Experience working with the public

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, TEAMs, OneNote, SharePoint

Experience working in a health management system

Experience scheduling appointments electronically
Experience working front desk at a medical facility

Experience processing payments and issuing receipts
