HVAC CONTROL TECHNICIAN (FULL TIME)

• We are hiring immediately for full time HVAC CONTROL TECHNICIAN positions.
• Location : University of South Florida - 4202 East Fowler Avenue, Tampa, FL 33620. (Openings at other locations within school district available)  Note: online applications accepted only .
• Schedule : Full time schedules. Days may vary, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; more details upon interview.
• Requirement : A minimum of 4 years HVAC Controls Experience is required.
• Pay Range: $25.21 per hour to $29.21 per hour

Job Summary

Summary: Program, startup, and commission, and integrate commercial HVAC control systems. Develop building automation system front-end solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Read and understand HVAC equipment sequence of operations. Be able to also understand sequence intent in the given application.
Read and understand project drawings and specifications.
Apply given sequence of operations to “block and wire” programs.
Engineer a Niagara AX/Niagara 4 station.
Startup and commission controllers, including integrating them to Niagara AX/4 stations.
Verify functionality of sensors and actuators and address any issues that may arise.
Develop graphical user interfaces for end users based on project specifications and company standards.
Provide owner training and support.
The Controls Technician for Building Management Systems (BMS) and Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems will be responsible for completing service calls in addition to working on larger projects under the direction of department management.
Read & review control specifications and diagrams.
May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness.
May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels.
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust.
While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
One of the following: Journeyman Electrical License, Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, or Journeyman Plumber License.
Experience working with blueprints and schematics.
Valid driver’s license.
A general understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
Rudimentary ability to utilize hand-operated construction equipment.
Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop and perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time.
