We are se e king a high l y m o tivated and experienced Benefit Broke r Account Manager to join our team. This r o le is responsible for m a naging and se r vicing a portfolio of large group clients, including both self-funded and fully insured accounts. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing tailored insurance soluti o ns, ensuring compliance, and delivering exceptional service to meet their unique day-to-day needs. This position requires a deep understanding of employee benefits, strong relationship management skills, organization, and the ability to navigate complex insurance programs.

How you'll make an impact

C l i e nt Re l ationship Managemen t :

  • S e r ve as the prima r y p o int of cont a ct for a portfolio of large group clients, fostering strong, long-term r e lationships.
  • Understand clients' business objectives, emp l oye e demographics, a nd benefit ne e ds to provide customized so l utions.
  • Conduc t reg u lar client meetings to review plan performance, address concerns, and discuss strateg i c rec om mendations .

P l an Design and Strate g y:

  • Collaborate with clients to design and implement comprehensive benefit programs, including self-funded a nd fully insured pl ans .
  • A nalyze claims data, utilization trends, and fi na ncial performance to recommend plan adjustments and cost - containment s t rategies .
  • Stay informed about i n dustry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging benefit solutions to provide proact i ve advi c e.

Sto p -Loss Reporting and Management:

  • Overse e sto p -loss insurance arrangements for self-funded clients, ensuring ap p ropriate coverage level s and te r ms .
  • Monitor and analyze sto p -loss claims activity, i ncluding tracking hig h - cost claimants a nd aggregate claims pe r formance .
  • Provide detailed sto p -loss reporting t o clients, highlighti n g cla i ms tre n ds, reimbursement activity, and potentia l r i sks .
  • Collaborate with stop-loss carriers to resolve claims issues, negotiate renewals, and ensure timely reimbursements .
  • Advise clients on sto p -loss policy options, inc l uding specific a nd ag g regate coverage, attachment points, and contract terms.

Renewal and Marketing Process:

  • Lead the an n ual renewal process, including n egotiati n g with ca rriers and vendors t o secure competitive rates and terms.
  • Prepare and present d e tailed renewal proposals, highlighti n g p lan o ptions, cost implications, and recommendations.
  • Manage the marketin g of benefit programs t o ensure clients receive the best value and coverage.

Compliance and Reg u l ator y Suppor t :

  • Ensure clients' benefit progr a ms c o mply wit h federal, state, and local regulations, including AC A , ERISA , HIPA A , and COBR A .
  • Provide guidance o n c o mpliance requirements and assist with necessary filings and documentation.

Vendor and Carri e r Managemen t :

  • Build and m aintain str o ng relationships with insurance c a rriers, third-party administrators (TP A s), sto p -loss carriers, and oth e r vend o rs .
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve se r vice iss u es, implement new pr o gra m s, and ensure seamless plan a d ministration.

Employee Communication and Education:

  • Develop and deliver e m ploye e communication materials, including benefit guides, enrollment presentati o ns, and FAQs .
  • Conduc t open enrol l ment me e tings and provi d e ongoing supp o rt to a d dress employee questions and conc e rns.

Team Col l aboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including sa l e s and unde r writing, t o deliver exceptional se r vice to clients .
  • Mentor and sup p or t junior team me m bers, sharing knowledge and ex p ertise.

Compensation:

The target salary range for this position is $50,000 to $70,000 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

About You

Required:

  • Bachelo r ’s degre e in b u siness, Insurance, o r a related field (or equivalent experie n ce) .
  • Minimum of 5 ye a rs of experience in employe e benefits, with a focus on large group accounts (self-funded and fully i n sured) .
  • In - depth knowledge of benefit plan design, fu n ding a r rangements, an d comp l ia n ce requirements.
  • Strong understa n ding of sto p -loss insurance, i ncluding polic y stru c tures, claims reporti ng, a n d carrier n egotiations .
  • A nalytical skills with the ability to interpret claims data, stop-loss reports, and financial pe r formance .
  • Excellent communicat i on and presentation sk i lls, with the abili t y to e x plain comple x c o ncep t s to diverse audiences .
  • Proven negotiatio n and problem-solvin g abilities .
  • Proficiency in M i croso ft Office Suite (Excel , PowerPoint, Word) and be nefit administration platforms.
  • Active Life and Health I nsurance L i cense (or a bility to obtai n within a specified timeframe) .

Preferred:

  • Experience working with stop-loss insurance, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), and wellness progr a ms .
  • Famili a rity wit h HRIS and benefits technolo g y p latforms.
  • Professional designati o ns such as CEBS, GB A , or PHR.

Compensation and benefits

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
