As a Harvest Lead, you play an essential role in overseeing and coordinating the harvesting operations within our cannabis cultivation facility. Your primary responsibility is to lead and guide the harvesting team in efficiently and accurately harvesting mature cannabis plants. You'll be responsible for inspecting plants for readiness, ensuring precise cutting and trimming techniques, and supervising the sorting process to maintain high-quality standards. Essential Functions:
Additionally, your role involves not only hands-on harvesting but also providing guidance to the team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Your leadership skills and expertise in harvesting will contribute significantly to the success of our cultivation operations, ensuring a smooth and productive harvest while upholding the quality of our cannabis products. The following essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Inspect cannabis plants for maturity and readiness for harvesting.
- Implement basic growing principles including cloning, pruning, topping, and trimming, and mixing soils and growing mediums, transplanting, watering, pruning and physically moving plants according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Trim and sort harvested cannabis plants to ensure the highest quality yield.
- Discard any damaged or substandard plant material to maintain quality standards.
- Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Collaborate with the cultivation team to optimize harvesting processes for maximum productivity.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in the room set-up and break-down while maintaining cleanliness in the harvesting area to prevent contamination and ensure product purity.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate harvesting activities.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of harvesting tools and equipment and promptly report any issues.
- Track and maintain cultivation data including room data, pest scouting, harvest reports, and inventory processes.
- Follow all IPM basics and proper application protocols.
- Provide input for continuous improvement in harvesting processes and techniques.

- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older (18 in NY) .
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum one year of experience working in an agricultural environment, which may include general landscaping, and/or knowledge of farming or cultivation practices is required - cannabis cultivation is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn state-specific cannabis laws and regulatory compliance is non-negotiable.
- Reliability is a must.
- Strong interpersonal abilities for seamless collaboration across all company levels.
- Excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
- Proficient in both oral and written communication.
- Able to prioritize tasks effectively and work in a heavily regulated environment.
The employee works in either a dispensary and/or cultivation environment. The employee may be required to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The position also requires a high level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency. The employee must be able to work in a fast-faced environment, handling routine and reoccurring tasks. The employee will work in environments that include exposure to, but not limited to dirt, fertilizers, dusts, odors, fumes, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, heights, indoor A/C, no A/C, and other environmental variables. The position also requires a high level of scheduling flexibility and will occasionally include evening, weekend, and holiday work hours. The employee will encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday and must have a high regard for self-management, time management, and scheduling of activities. Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time, move around, and clearly communicate. The employee must constantly position oneself to move freely. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance. The employee should have the ability to meet the physical demands of lifting, carrying and positioning heavy objects and should be familiar and comfortable using the assistance of push/pull manual transport equipment (ex: pallet jack, hand truck). The employee will often need to use a ladder, with up to a 12’ extension and general hardware tools.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
