Outside Sales Representative - Midwest
Summary: The Outside Sales Representative will represent products manufactured by Richard's Paint to existing and prospective dealers within assigned territory. The Representative will also assist dealers in sales to their customers by accompanying local representatives on sales calls, contractor shows, etc.
Territory: Mid-Atlantic Region - Central Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Eastern Kansas

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Become familiar with Richard's product line in a reasonable time frame.
- Develops and maintains relationships with potential and existing dealers.
- Identifies and locates new clients through a variety of methods, including networking and cold calls.
- Develops and implements strategies for sales in assigned territory.
- Applies knowledge of the field and product features to match products to the needs of clients.
- Communicates with clients and leads to identify and understand their product needs; identifies and suggests products to meet those needs.
- Maintains communication with existing and previous clients, alerting them of new products and enhancements that may be of interest.
- Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer relationship problems.
- Travels throughout assigned territory daily to call on current and potential dealers.
- Demonstrates product to clients using samples or catalogs and emphasize product features.
- Collaborates with managers, credit department, customer service, and other staff to confirm pricing, credit worthiness, availability of product, and shipping schedules.
- Submits weekly expense reports and daily activity on CRM.
- Works with distributor owners, managers, outside sales reps, and inside sales to develop sales, work make sales calls and presentations to contractors, builders, condo associations, etc.
- Maintains distributor's inventory of sales aids, literature, marketing materials up to date.
- Investigates customer problems for a satisfactory resolution.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Communicate information clearly and articulately, both written and orally.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of products to be sold.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field OR
- At least five years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Travel to meet with clients or potential clients daily.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid Driver's License with excellent driving record.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position. Work hours are determined by the hours of operation of the client. It is expected that at least 40 hours will be spent in the field weekly.
