Technician
NOW HIRING - Equipment Technician
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of hydraulic, electrical, gasoline, and diesel‑powered turf equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience troubleshooting complex systems, and the ability to deliver high‑quality service in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostics & Repair
- Accurately test, troubleshoot, and diagnose failures on hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and gas/diesel engines
- Perform high‑quality repairs in alignment with company standards and Standard Repair Times (SRT)
- Grind bed knives, reels, and blades according to customer specifications
- Conduct welding tasks as needed
- Assemble new equipment to customer specifications and within Standard Setup Time (SST)
Documentation & Estimates
- Prepare accurate parts and labor estimates
- Document issues clearly, identifying causes of failure and corrective actions
- Record service notes and updates in a clear, organized manner
Equipment Preparation
- Prepare demo, loaner, pre‑owned, rental, and sales units according to requested specifications
- Ensure all equipment is serviced, cleaned, and ready for customer use
Technical & Computer Skills
- Use computer systems for parts lookup, work orders, and email communication
- Read, interpret, and troubleshoot using electrical and hydraulic schematics
Qualifications:
- Skilled in repair and maintenance of commercial turf equipment
- Strong diagnostic ability across electrical, hydraulic, gasoline, and diesel systems
- Ability to read and understand schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred
- Minimum of five years of mechanical or related field experience
- Additional training, seminars, or certifications in the commercial turf industry are a plus
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to read and use precision measuring tools such as calipers, dial indicators, feeler gauges, and scales
Reasoning & Problem‑Solving:
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from manuals and technical documents
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, pull, kneel, stoop, and reach during repairs
- Must be able to work in physically demanding environments and handle equipment components

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr.
