About the Role

Birch Island Vet is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Veterinary Receptionist to join our front desk team. As the first point of contact for clients and their pets, you'll play a key role in providing a welcoming, organized, and supportive environment. Your work will help ensure smooth clinic operations and a positive experience for every visitor.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet clients and pets in person and over the phone

• Schedule appointments and manage the daily calendar

• Check patients in and out, process payments, and update records

• Coordinate with the medical team to maintain efficient patient flow

• Provide general information to clients regarding services, medications, and pet care

• Maintain a clean, professional, and inviting front desk area

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a client-facing or receptionist role (veterinary experience preferred)

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Calm, friendly demeanor with a genuine interest in animals and their caregivers

• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities

• Proficient with phones, computers, and practice management software

• Reliable, punctual, and collaborative team player

Preferred (but not required)

• Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting

• Familiarity with scheduling software, invoicing, and medical record systems
