As part of our commitment to academic excellence, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Student Services Director to join our team.
Position Overview:
The Student Services Director is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of student support, engagement, and retention. This position ensures that students receive the guidance, resources, and services needed to thrive academically and personally. The ideal candidate will be a student-focused leader with a deep understanding of higher education support systems and a passion for helping students succeed.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and oversee student support programs and services including advising, orientation, counseling, and career development.
Lead the Student Services team to ensure high-quality, timely, and effective support for all students.
Serve as a primary point of contact for students regarding non-academic concerns and coordinate referrals to appropriate resources.
Monitor and assess student satisfaction, retention, and engagement; develop strategies to enhance the overall student experience.
Manage student records in compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to identify and respond to student needs.
Coordinate events, workshops, and programs that foster student development, wellness, and community involvement.
Oversee student conduct and grievance processes with professionalism, fairness, and confidentiality.
Provide leadership in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and support services for students facing challenges.
Participate in institutional planning, accreditation processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in student services or student affairs within higher education.
Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of student development theory, retention strategies, and support resources.
Familiarity with FERPA and student privacy standards.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse student populations and college departments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems (e.g., STARS etc.).
Work Environment:
Onsite role based in Fort Myers, Florida.
Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend events as needed.
Professional office setting with interaction across all departments and student groups.
