Position Summary

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to manage financial records, track project costs, and support month-end closings across our portfolio of construction projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring fiscal accuracy and supporting strategic financial decisions.

Experience in construction accounting, job cost tracking, or working with federal contracts is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, job cost reports, and project performance data


• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries


• Support the month-end and year-end close process, including reconciliations and accruals


• Process subcontractor pay applications and ensure compliance with lien releases and billing deadlines


• Assist with cash flow projections, budget tracking, and financial forecasting


• Monitor compliance with internal controls and company policies


• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and executive staff to support project financial health


• Prepare reports for bonding, audits, and bank requirements as needed

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field


• CPA or pursuit of CPA is a plus

Experience:

• 5+ years in accounting (construction industry preferred)


• Experience with government contracts and federal reporting requirements is a plus


• Familiarity with construction accounting platforms (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage, or Trimble)

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)


• Knowledge of GAAP and construction-specific accounting principles


• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines


• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities


• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

Travel & Physical Requirements

• Minimal travel may be required for project audits or team meetings


• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
