Building Automation/Energy Project Lead (San Francisco Bay Area)
Title : Energy Project Specialist
Location : Office in Pleasanton, CA | Project sites throughout the Bay Area/Northern CA
Travel : Local during workday (company vehicle + gas card)
Compensation : $90,000 - $140,000 annual base + bonus
OVERVIEW
Insight Global is seeking an Energy Project Specialist to join a prominent building automation and controls solutions organization in the Bay Area! This individual will be acting as the building automation and control lead for multiple commercial projects at a time.
Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate, commission, and verify that systems are installed correctly and operating as intended
- Ensure all projects are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with project requirements
- Oversee subcontractor teams performing hands‑on installation work, including HVAC, solar, access control, fire alarm, and related systems
- Serve as a client‑facing representative on projects, maintaining a high level of professionalism and clear communication on site and through all client interactions
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and Superintendent while independently problem‑solving and self‑directing day‑to‑day activities based on business needs
- Apply strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to support complex building automation and HVAC projects
- Work to meet and exceed customer expectations related to building automation and HVAC system performance
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of experience related to commercial building automation and controls systems
- Prior experience juggling multiple projects and priorities at a time
- Thorough understanding of HVAC operations
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and use equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Associates Degree or Trade Degree/Certificate in HVAC, Building Automation, or similar
- Valid Driver's License in the state of California
Compensation : $90,000 - $140,000 annual base + bonus. Exact compensation will vary depending on individual skills, education, and experience.
