Administrative Assistant
Serves as assistant for various functions in the Business Office. Works with information of a broad and highly confidential nature and assists in designated administrative details using initiative and sound judgment. Requires knowledge of school policy and organizational structure, a high level of well-developed office organization skills, demonstrated ability to follow through on projects/assignments in a timely manner; high level of tact, friendliness and other aspects of strongly developed interpersonal skills plus proven organizational and time management skills.
Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
- Associate’s degree in office administration or business-related field or certification from a business college, including course work in data entry, word processing/computer literacy.
- Knowledge of principles, policies and beliefs of the Florida Conference and the Seventh day Adventist Church.
- Appropriate successful work experience may be acceptable in lieu of scholastic requirements.
- Two or more years applicable office experience are needed to gain the skills and knowledge required to perform job duties.
- Excellent customer service, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong computer/keyboarding skills (Word, Excel, Access, Internet, etc.), organized and attentive to detail, self-directed and motivated.
- Must possess the ability to interact and communicate with persons of diverse backgrounds and work well under pressure.
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform all job duties with minimum supervision; ability to work under pressure and with many interruptions.
- Ability to foster communication among departmental staff, employees from other departments and outside personnel.
- Absolute confidentiality required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists Business Manager for needs of the department.
- Responds to incoming calls and initiates appropriate action to resolve calls.
- Responds to e-mails and other correspondence in a timely manner.
- Assists with creating and maintaining various departmental databases.
- Assists with providing resources to teachers and staff members.
- Assist with the planning, preparation and management of events for the department.
- Assists with pre-registration/check-in/registration process for events.
- Attends committee meetings as requested by Business Manager to represent department.
