Mechanical Engineer Intern

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer Intern will assist in projects aimed at improving plant safety, efficiency, and reliability. This role is designed for 4th-year university students to gain hands-on experience in plant engineering and project management under the supervision of experienced engineers.

Job Location

This is an onsite position located in Brooksville, FL.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in documenting plant requirements for automation and plant improvement projects.
• Support maintenance and engineering to help troubleshoot mechanical systems.
• Help prepare layout drawings and concepts for automation and mechanical projects.
• Assist in development and execution of machine reliability program.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with operations and maintenance staff.
• Perform simple data collection and analysis tasks as directed.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards while performing tasks under supervision.
• This job operates in a professional office environment as well as on the shop floor in a Manufacturing facility with no heating or air conditioning. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

Job Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a final year of a university program in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems as it pertains to process equipment.
• Interest in automation and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain attention to detail.
• This is an active role with a substantial amount of time spent on the shop floor, in an environment with no heating or air conditioning, requiring walking and standing at and around machinery.

Compensation

$20 an hour
