This open competitive advertisement is for a Professional Accountant Specialist -SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in the Breau of Internal Audit (Contracts)- Office of the Inspector General.

The mission of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) at the Florida Department of Corrections is to protect and promote public integrity and accountability within the Department through investigations, audits, and inspections. We aim to detect and prevent fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct, ensuring that the Department operates efficiently and effectively while upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

• Planning phase; scope, program and time budget.
• Performance phase; field work, working papers, recommendations, and draft contract monitoring report.
• Conducts exit briefings with management staff upon completion of project field work providing them with exceptions and recommendations.
• Conduct investigation and special projects as assigned.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with two (2) years of professional audit, accounting, or contract evaluation experience
  • • Postsecondary education may substitute for up to 2 years of the required experience.
