Staff Accountant

We are an established and growing organization headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This full-time, fully on-site position plays a crucial role in maintaining day-to-day financial operations, supporting monthly close processes, and ensuring accurate internal and external reporting.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

• Experience: 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting or corporate experience preferred).

• Technical Skills:
  
  
  • Proficiency with ERP software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage, or SAP).
    
    
  • Advanced Excel capabilities (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SUMIFs).
    
    
• Knowledge: strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Location: Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Jacksonville, FL area and work 100% on-site.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger Management: Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare and post journal entries, and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

• Month-End & Year-End Close: Assist in driving a timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and variance analysis for management review.

• Accounts Receivable & Payable: Support AR/AP workflows, including invoice processing, vendor maintenance, and collections tracking.

• Fixed Assets & Inventory: Track and reconcile fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and inventory accounting.

• Banking & Cash Management: Perform daily bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow movements, and assist with treasury operations.

• Tax Preparation Support: Gather and organize necessary documentation to support monthly/quarterly sales tax filings and annual corporate tax prep.

• Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and assist in developing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard assets.

• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with operations, payroll, and project teams to ensure accurate cost allocation, expense tracking, and budget monitoring.

• Compliance & Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audit requests, tax schedules, and ensure strict compliance with GAAP guidelines.
