Job Title: Development Director
Position Category: Full-time, exempt, 40 hours/week, some nights, and weekends
Salary: $58,656 – $65,000
Pay Period: Twice per month – 15th and 30th
Medical Reimbursement: Percentage of HMO-level plan provided by organization
Reports to: Executive Director (ED)
Position Details: EATSF is seeking a dynamic, creative, and organized development professional who possesses strong fundraising and managerial skills that will further the mission of the organization, and an individual with the desire to grow. The position will lead all aspects of donor relations and manage EATSF’s fundraising initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead EATSF’s fundraising program.
- Champion and communicate the mission and values of EATSF to the community at-large.
- Lead the development of a strategy and financial goals to grow EATSF revenue streams on an annual basis.
- Manage the EATSF grant writer in maintaining and/or writing a schedule of grant applications throughout the fiscal year, while researching for new opportunities and submitting LOI’s for additional funding.
- Co-Lead the Community Engagement Committee with the Committee Chair(s) on fundraising, marketing and public relations goals and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare budgets and monthly development reports for the ED and Board of Directors.
- Act as a secondary point of contact for the financial partners of EATSF, and an account signor on behalf of the organization.
- Lead and manage scholarship committee and decision-making process for annual awards within the scholarship program.
- Direct and manage the process of stewarding donors on behalf of EATSF, while collaborating with the ED and Board of Directors.
- Identify, evaluate, solicit, cultivate, steward, and manage a portfolio of potential prospects and donors with a focus on securing corporate sponsorship and major gifts.
- Lead the planning and execution of at least two (2) annual fundraising events.
- Act as the primary contact for community outreach groups, meetings and event. Attend as the organizational representative on a monthly or as needed basis.
- Host community awareness events on campus and execute campus tours.
- Manage and oversee volunteer planning committees to assist in special event development or fundraising activities.
- Prepare and organize direct mail/online giving campaigns and third-party fundraising events and all donor-related communications.
- Oversee the execution of all multi-media activities/presence, including a monthly e-newsletter.
- Establish CRM in-house best practices.
- Attend Board of Directors meetings monthly to present relevant development information, and other committee meetings as needed or assigned.
- Assist in the development of the short and long term organizational strategic plans as a member of organizational leadership.
- Collaborate with operational leadership team to create an organizational calendar that encompasses program, development, marketing, management, and strategic direction.
- Steward annual disbursements from the organizational endowments, as well as continuing to increase the principal through solicitation efforts.
- Partner with ED and Board Treasurer for the annual audit.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Read, sign, and adhere to the EATSF Code of Conduct.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field and/or 5+ years of experience in fund development and donor relations.
- Strict adherence to fundraising ethics with proven ability.
- Ability to be a self-starter, managing and leading a diverse range of assignments and projects with high efficiency, excellent attention to detail, and analytical skills.
- Experience using tracking and reporting systems related to financial management.
- Strong communications skills, both oral and written. Bilingual in Spanish and English, a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with database software and excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Adobe Creative Suite or Canva experience, a plus.
