Program Manager – Defense Training & Simulation (Government Programs)

Location : Oviedo FL

Salary : approximately $90,000 annually

About the Role

We are seeking a Program Manager to support the execution of government programs focused on advanced human-motion and virtual reality training systems used by military and professional training organizations.

This position works closely with a Senior Program Manager and supports multiple smaller government programs and subcontracts rather than managing a single large program. The role requires coordination across engineering, technical, and operational teams to ensure program objectives are achieved in accordance with contractual requirements, schedules, and budgets.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting government or Department of Defense (DoD) programs who is interested in working in a technical environment involving hardware, software, and integrated training systems.

Key Responsibilities

Program Execution

• Support management and execution of multiple government programs and subcontracts

• Track schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful contract performance

• Assist with program budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting activities

Technical & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and technical teams to support program delivery

• Assist with integration planning and program execution across multidisciplinary teams

• Monitor program risks, issues, and dependencies and support mitigation planning

• Customer & Contract Support

• Support communications with government customers and program stakeholders

• Assist with preparation of program reviews, status reports, and contract deliverables

• Ensure program activities comply with contractual and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Required

• 3–7 years of experience in program management, project management, or technical program coordination

• Experience supporting U.S. government or Department of Defense (DoD) programs or contracts

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent program activities

• Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred

• Experience working in technical environments involving engineering, hardware/software systems, or system integration

• Experience supporting defense technology, training systems, simulation, or aerospace programs

• PMP certification a plus but not required

• Military experience a plus but not required

• Eligibility for a U.S. security clearance
