Data Scientist - Machine Learning

Custom Manufacturing & Engineering, Inc. (CME) is seeking a Data Scientist – Computer Vision & Machine Learning to push the limits of AI in real-time inspection and quality assurance. You'll work on deep learning models that analyze live video and high-speed imagery for manufacturing, defense, and security-where milliseconds and accuracy count.

What You'll Do

• Design, train, and optimize deep learning models (e.g., ResNet, GANs, YOLO) for computer vision tasks such as classification, detection, and segmentation.
• Develop algorithms to process and analyze real-time video and imagery with low latency and high accuracy.
• Create and improve large-scale image and video datasets using data-centric approaches.
• Conduct experiments, tune hyperparameters, and evaluate model performance with ablation studies and other best practices.
• Deploy models to production environments, including edge computing platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, TI Edge AI).
• Perform data cleaning, transformation, and feature engineering to ensure high-quality model inputs.
• Analyze and visualize results to communicate insights and model behavior to technical and non-technical teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional experts to translate business and operational problems into data science solutions.
• Stay current with the latest trends in ML, AI, and computer vision to drive innovation into CME's solutions.

What You Bring

• Education : Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience : 1–3 years in a Data Scientist or Computer Vision Engineer role, with proven hands-on work in deep learning for imagery/video.
• Technical Skills :
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Experience with computer vision libraries (OpenCV, YOLO, PyTorch).
• Strong background in preprocessing, cleaning, and managing large-scale, unstructured data.
• Soft Skills : Problem-solving mindset, strong communication, and the ability to thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
