Accountant - Accounts Payable

Location: Jupiter, Florida (In-person)
This is a full-time, in-person position with hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday—no nights or weekends.

Join a supportive and collaborative accounting team of employee-owners as an Accountant - Accounts Payable , where your attention to detail and organizational skills will drive success. As part of our 100% employee-owned, Certified Evergreen company, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining smooth financial operations by processing vendor invoices, managing payments, and contributing to month-end close activities. With hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday—and no nights or weekends required—this position offers a healthy work-life balance. 1. Drive Accuracy in Invoice Processing
   

   • Take ownership of receiving, reviewing, and recording all payment obligations in the accounting system within 24 hours of receipt.

   • Ensure invoices meet internal approval standards with a meticulous eye for detail.

2. Efficiently Manage Payments
   

   • Lead the timely payment of invoices, aligning with vendor terms and company policies, while leveraging cost-effective methods (ACH, credit card, or check).

   • Resolve discrepancies swiftly by reconciling vendor statements and conducting thorough investigations.

3. Ensure Compliance Excellence
   

   • Oversee tonnage filings to meet all state reporting deadlines without exception.

   • Protect company assets by adhering to robust internal controls and regulatory standards.

4. Support Month-End Success
   

   • Deliver accurate and complete accounting schedules by the 20th of each month.

   • Actively participate in month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.

5. Foster Team Collaboration
   

   • Partner seamlessly with other finance functions (e.g., Accounts Receivable, General Ledger) to achieve departmental goals.

   • Strengthen team capabilities by embracing cross-training opportunities.

6. Champion Process Improvements
   

   • Identify and implement strategies to enhance accounts payable efficiency and reduce costs.

   • Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices, applying them to drive continuous improvement.

• Education & Experience
  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • [2+] years of experience in Accounts Payable or a general accounting role.

• Technical Skills
  

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, or similar).

  • Strong Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills for data analysis and reporting.

• Soft Skills
  

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective vendor and team interactions.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Familiarity with relevant GAAP (or IFRS) accounting principles.

  • Proven track record of meeting strict deadlines and delivering accurate results in a fast-paced environment.
