We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Wastewater Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and maintaining wastewater treatment systems to ensure safe and environmentally compliant disposal of wastewater. They operate and monitor equipment like pumps and chemical dosing systems, perform tests to maintain water quality, troubleshoot issues to prevent system failures, removal of hazardous waste to a designated location on site, and the management of hazmat and chemicals onsite. A Technician ensures adherence to strict environmental regulations, maintain detailed records, and follow safety protocols while handling hazardous materials. The job requires a high school diploma, skills in mechanics, problem-solving, often involving physical work in challenging conditions.
Job Description:
- Operate and Maintain Systems: Monitor, operate, and maintain wastewater treatment equipment safely, such as pumps, valves, filters, and chemical dosing systems, to process wastewater effectively
- Monitor Processes: Conduct regular inspections, collect samples, and perform tests (e.g., pH, dissolved oxygen, or contaminant levels) to ensure treatment processes meet regulatory standards
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, perform preventive maintenance, and address operational issues to minimize downtime
- Compliance and Reporting: Works Closely with EH&S department to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations (e.g., EPA or state-specific standards). Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and document treatment processes
- Safety and Emergency Response: Follow safety protocols with a Zero incident safety mindset, handle hazardous materials, and respond to emergencies like spills or system failures
- Environmental Protection: Manage sludge disposal, monitor effluent quality, and implement measures to minimize environmental impact
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Certification: Willingness and the ability to obtain required certifications
- Must have a Zero incident safety mindset
- Previous experience with water treatment systems preferred
- Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and flexible hours as required
- Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data
- Ability to lift 50 LBS
- Customer service attitude
- Detail oriented/organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's degree or coursework in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience with wastewater treatment systems, Environment Health and Safety, Chemical Management, or DOT shipping.
- Certification: Hazmat & Waste Ground Shipper Certification (DOT Shipping) and 8 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Initial - First Responder Level II certifications.

Physical Requirements: Primarily manufacturing/assembly environment. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to maneuver up to 20 pounds. Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
