Vice Chair Education Vascular Surgeon (Finance)

The Department of Surgery at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, is seeking an Open Rank candidate to perform all aspects of vascular surgery. Applicants should have completed a vascular surgery residency and demonstrated experience in surgical education, research, and patient care.

Additional Minimum Qualifications

• Doctoral/Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization, with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
• Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
• For Associate or Full Professor: Typically will have produced creative work, professional writing, or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field.

Responsible to a Chair or other high-level administrator of a State University. Responsible for teaching, service, and related activities. May also be responsible for research and academic advising, and may represent the university or department on committees.

Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent. The candidate will need to obtain and maintain this license, credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals where clinical duties are performed. The candidate will participate in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.

Candidates must be Board certified/Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery.

Responsibilities

20% - Teaching Duties: Lead and oversee all educational programs, ensure accreditation compliance, mentor faculty, support learner well-being, innovate curriculum, promote educational research, monitor program metrics, manage budgets, and represent the department externally.

60% - Clinical Duties: Complete clinical obligations, uphold professionalism, participate in research, provide bedside teaching, evaluate students and residents, and engage in educational series and conferences.

20% - Research Duties: Develop and sustain a competitive research program with funding, publications, and collaborations.

Essential functions include teaching, research, service, administrative activities, and academic advising, with potential representation duties.
