FSU/Lee Health is seeking a Family Medicine Faculty Physician to support the FSU College of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at Lee Memorial Hospital!!

Lee Health is a nonprofit organization with more than 17,000 employees, 4,500 volunteers, and more than 1,200 employed primary care and specialty providers with multiple practice locations throughout Southwest Florida. The organization has four acute care hospitals and one specialty hospital that together house over 1,800 hospital beds.

About FSU's Family Medicine Residency Program:

We are a 3-year, ACGME certified program with a 100% Board Exam Pass Rate since our inception.

Our residency program offers you a close-knit fellowship with other residents, staff and faculty, while preparing you in a supportive training environment to graduate the program fully equipped to practice full-spectrum family medicine. Our residents provide the highest quality of comprehensive and compassionate care to patients throughout their life cycle, with particular emphasis on the goal of reducing health disparities for the underserved community. We are near downtown Fort Myers, a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area (HSPA). Due to a shortage of primary care physicians in Southwest Florida, there exists numerous opportunities for graduates to work in ambulatory, inpatient, and long-term care facilities.

This is a ground-floor opportunity to build an exceptional Family Medicine residency program from the very beginning.Gulf Coast Medical Center at Lee Health, in partnership with Florida State University, is launching a new 12:12:12 Family Medicine residency program, and we are seeking trailblazing physicians to join our faculty. We are at the dawn of a new GME Academic Enterprise, with new programs in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, and multiple fellowships launching alongside us, building on the success of well-established programs at sister facilities in the Lee Health System.

Faculty positions are available at both Gulf Coast Medical Center campus and the established Lee Memorial campus in order to support the overall Academic Center growth and expansion. You will be an integral part of shaping our vision, designing an innovative curriculum, and mentoring our growing cohort of Family Medicine residents. Specialized opportunities in Sports Medicine, Obstetrics, and Palliative Care may also be available for the right candidate.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Graduate of an accredited Residency Program in Family Medicine as well as respective Board Certification (or Board Eligibility as appropriate)
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida, or ability to obtain this prior to start date
• Clear, unrestricted DEA
• Minimum 3 years experience in a teaching or faculty capacity with a graduate medical education program
• Must comply with all ACGME core faculty requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching, supervising, and evaluating internal medicine residents using real time face to face feedback
• Participate in remediation of residents
• Participate in resident's Didactic conferences including M&M, EMB, journal club, daily morning report, noon conferences as a lecturer, etc
• Faculty physicians will dedicate an average of 15 hours per week to the program
